Nikki Haley Sundowns for Loeffer in Forsyth; Gregory attempts to Redeem Criswell 1956 Address to SC Legislature

Friends, a veritable avalanche of insight and venality the last few days with great significance for the Direction of the US Senate and the Georgia vote January 5th and Warnock/Loeffler race.

Over the weekend Former SC Gov and UN Ambassador  Nikki Haley made clubfooted appearances to All white audiences in North Georgia ceiling her legacy of mediocrity and atonal politics. She Took down the Confederate Flag and she was gracious during the nightmare of the Charleston Nine but here she is showing no education from those events nor time in the UN with her endorsements of Loeffler; not to mention any lessons from her hometown and the Orangeburg Massacre.

She campaigned in Forsyth County a Sundown town for 9 decades of the twentieth Century whose lynching history was recently made bare in Patrick Phillips rivetting book Blood at the Root. Forsyth just a few years ago was where Oprah and Coretta Scott King marched drawing national attention. Charles Stanley's son Andy is now a megachurch pastor there on the outskirts of Gainesville and Cumming at the Browns Bridge Church.

And Stephen Reeves Of the Cooperative Baptist Fellowship today at Goodfaithmedia.org has a scorching piece, while not naming Haley, shows just what kind of shenanigans she is participating in.

All this in the larger context of spotlighted new looks at Faulkner and the lessons of the Civil War. Haley could read Michael Gorra on the Civil War, or better to help her understand, google the Drew Gilpin Faust review in the Atlantic, and even better than better therein click on the link to the 2016 piece that breaks it down for the venality in which she dances with the Trump base in support of Loeffler.

Joel Gregory tried to redeem an aspect of some of this with a dissident view, taking issue with the six seminary presidents of the SBC on Critical Race Theory.  You can read that at baptistnews.com or google for Baptist News Global. in the 90s Gregory was co pastor of FBC Dallas Texas with the infamous WA Criswell. In 56, and Nikki Haley should know this, at the invitation of Strom Thurmond, Criswell delivered a harangue of a race baiting diatribe to a joint session of the SC legislature saying among other things " You wouldn't call a chigger a chiggerow, now would ya.?"

UN Ambassador Haley by ignorance or feigning dismissal was  playing the same game over the weekend in Georgia.

And it will be a shame if Warnock doesnt bring Deshaun Watson of Hall County and Trevor Lawrence of 30 miles West of Forsyth in Barnsley Garden just off the Kingston Hwy into the conversation. June 13 Trevor told me he was with Deshaun Watson and  Drew Brees in the twitter dustup against Trump; and that friends puts Watson and Lawrence at odds with Haley and Loeffler in these matters.

Clipping along while this could get dense in a hurry which is part of the slimey game Karl Rove plays in these contests, or what Atwater called spreading the fog, Ossoff may have the best ad with his contest against Perdue. He has a hard scrabble working class white man with a credible accent, authentic as Hell cutting through all this mirage of Loeffler and Perdue, cutting through the fog to say they don't give a damn about the welfare of the average working fellow, white black or Brown

That's what's a stake as was with the Tuberville shenanigans in Alabama.Working class white folks voting against their own economic interests with hide and seek Venality, mendacity of the politics of abortion.

Furman grad, Vandy Doc Ansley Quiros of the History Department of UNA in Florence Alabama got to the guts of it last fall before the election with this sterling piece.
