Some thoughts on Britney Griner

I never met Britney Griner but I know a girl and her father in Collinsville, Alabama who played against her in Juco. Candace Orr held her to four points, thats a big deal, one of the greatest of all time held to four by a girl from a town of about 2,000 people. Candace played her high school ball in Ft Payne home of Randy Owen about 14 miles up the road.

Collinsville's Becky Kennedy is now a chaplain at Baylor where Britney played maybe while current Furman President Elizabeth Davis was in administration there with Clinton's antagonist was president. Davis played Trombone in High school. She and Becky were members of the same church in Waco, Seventh and Charles or something.

Facebook for WHNT of Huntsville Alabama is giving Britney Hell today. They seem to forgot the lesser American Donald Trump implied two of Nick Saban's Heisman winners Henry and Mark Ingram were sons a bitches in Huntsville with the Bama Legend Richard Shelby on the Dais.

They could learn something from Baptist News Global and its list of great American patriots, ones who knew their ASS from a Hole in the ground (paraphrase of Randy Newman). Ones who knew the meaning of the word, not reflex when Trump said Sons of Bitches.

Among them Fannie Lou Hamer, Lincoln ( see recent Meacham bio of Abe), Frank Johnson, Frederick Douglas, George W. Truett, Harriet Tubman. Those are great Americans.

I think they all would welcome Britney Home!
