Collinsville Baptist Women and West Rome
Her pilgrimage in some ways mirrors that of folks raised in this region. I understand she is good friend of former SBC President, Jim Henry's daughter, Kate Campbell.
Kate has a new song out about Jesus and Elvis you may want to check at her site www.katecampbell.com
Susan Shaw went to Berry and then to SBTS. She now teaches at Oregon State. Her new book defies BFM 2000 and is sure to cause an uproar, possibly at this years Alabama Baptist Convention where Jimmy Jackson may be elected President after moving his association to vote First Baptist Huntsville out of the fellowship.
Here is what Shaw is thinking.

I grew up in the Methodist church, but I have known a lions share of Southern Baptist women. I can agree with Shaw. Submissive they ain't. I can immediately name several with whom I am currently acquainted, one a Southern Baptist preacher's daughter.
Wow. What close connections. Live not far from Rome. Went to Shorter. Son at Berry now. Still SBC, though I'm getting more disenchanted by the day. I'm going to Berry next week for a lecture by John Witte, Jr. Your post reminded me that I need to have dinner at Schroeder's --- those Hoagie Carmichael's are to die for.
